TNR Initiative

Every time you treat your dog to a bag of Nooshi's Nibbles, you help TNR a street animal.

So, what is TNR?
Alongside rigorous adoption initiatives, TNR is the only proven long-term solution to humanely control street animal communities.

TNR stands for:
T - Trap: Catching stray communities of animals in a given area and taking them to the clinic.
N - Neuter: Spaying/neutering the animals and fully vaccinating them.
R - Release: Returning the animals back to their community after recovery.

Removing animals from an area does not "fix" a neighborhood dog/cat problem and for a long time, "catch and kill" was/is a widely accepted method of managing community animal colonies. The animals are poisoned on site or trapped and removed from their established colony to be euthanized.

This method does not work because of the vacuum effect: when large animal populations are rapidly removed from their territories, it creates space for other animals from outside territories to fill the now empty territory.

This is why a portion of our sales will be allocated to support TNR activities in various areas in Cairo such as Maadi and New Cairo. We really appreciate your support on this endeavor!
